Finn then admits that this was a prank, but that was not part of it. The 'ghost' also engulfs Lumpy Space Princess and she tries to call her parents but then the lights start to flicker and the ghost captures her and puts her in a painting. Finn and Jake tries to escape but the doors were locked. Then they try running upstairs but Jake was captured.
Finn then hides in a room. Out of bookshelves, the Ghost Lady appears and tries to get Finn but he managed to escape by breaking a hole in the wall. In the next room, the floor bursts open, a picture of crows on the wall comes alive and releases crows into the room. The floor separates completely into a mouth shape, and the furniture begins to try and eat him, and Finn flees this room and up a nearby stairwell into the observatory. The observatory is surrounded by ocean, which crashes up against the base of the building in huge waves.
The light rises through the floor, finally cornering Finn, when the light takes the sheet off its head and herself to be Lady Rainicorn with all the guests fused in her body, and Jake on her back. Jake reveals that he knew about Finn's plan for months and 'flipped the script' with Lady Rainicorn.
Finn asks about how PB melted it was a wax dummy , and then the monster he saw and the house coming alive. Jake believes he was just imagining it out of fear but Finn denies it. Jake then thinks its just another joke. After they leave on LR, Finn flashes back to the monster he saw and decides to put it in "the vault" and forgets about it.

As a result, the series crafted some chilling tales centered around the main protagonists, expanding the Land of Ooo into a much more complex world that viewers grew to adore. The episode follows Finn after a struggle with a Stag, wandering the candy kingdom in a wheelchair and wrapped in a lower body cast, only to find that everyone is missing. Where is everyone? Why is Jake babbling on about a surprise birthday party that Lady Rainicorn has supposedly orchestrated for him?
Whatever happened with the Stag? How much time has passed? This episode is a great example of Adventure Time showcasing its ability to shock very early on in the series.
Any viewer who has a fear of being confined in a deep underground city completely made of sand while their vampire friend slowly goes into a feeding frenzy should avoid this episode.
Marceline is one of Adventure Time 's best characters and is beloved by the audience, making this transformation all the more terrifying. Watching Finn explore the tight quarters of the dangerous cave as calmly as possible, then cutting back to Jake growing more and more nervous about Marceline's condition, is nothing short of suspenseful.
In another early episode, the viewer is given the classic haunted house scenario, complete with a costume party and a whodunit mystery. Funny nicknames like "Prince Hotbod" Finn put aside, this episode quickly spins out of control as the house starts to warp and change around Finn. Although everything turned out to be a prank, there was definitely something wrong with the house.
This episode was able to quickly introduce a mysterious character that had fans curious for more. Who was that ghost lady in the house? A character that debuted in "The Creeps," known to fans at the time as the "Mysterious Ghost Lady," made her major appearance in "The Vault.
